- Cut corn tortillas into triangles to make chips.
- Heat oil to about 350°F (176°C). Fry in batches so chips cook evenly.
- Fry each chip about 1–2 minutes until crisp and golden. Drain on paper towels and season with salt while still warm so it sticks.


- Arrange chips in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Top each chip with a spoonful of refried beans, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and a pickled jalapeño slice.

- 1 cup refried beans
